Information Sharing and Disclosure
Online Coweta will not disclose a user’s personally identifiable information to any third party. Data collected is not sold or shared by Online Coweta, except when we have the user’s express permission or under the following circumstances:
•We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims
•We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law.
Information Not Collected
•A user can access our website and utilize many of its services without providing any information at all.
•We do not follow a user’s browsing path outside of our website.
In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Online Coweta does not collect or store any personal information, even in aggregate, about children under the age of 13. Children should always get permission from their parents before sending any information about themselves (such as their names, email addresses, and phone numbers) over the Internet, to us or to anyone else. We will not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to register with any of our sites or to provide any other personally identifying information.
If users wish to utilize certain services located on our website, they must register. Those services currently include:
•Registration of a business in Online Coweta’s Business Directory
The information collected when a user registers includes:
•The user’s name
•The user’s e-mail address (account id)
•The user’s password (to be used when logging into the site)
This transaction information is retained in a database, not on a website.
We automatically collect and store:
•The name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet
•The Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using
•The browser software you use and your operating system
•The date and time you access our site
•The Internet address of the site from which you linked directly to our sites
We use this information only as anonymous aggregate data to determine the number of visitors to different sections of our site, to ensure the sites are working properly, and to help us make our sites more useful. We do not use it to track or record information about individuals.
Online Coweta reserves the right to reject and/or delete any posts to the website (Classified ads, Business Directory, as deemed necessary based on content or organizational changes. Visitors shall not post or distribute any material that is knowingly false, defamatory, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, threatening, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, libelous, sexually explicit, invasive of a person’s privacy, or that otherwise violates any laws or that encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense.
Online Coweta is not responsible for, and cannot guarantee the performance of goods or services provided by those who post such items on the website or items on sites to which we provide links. A link from Online Coweta to an outside website does not constitute an endorsement of that site or the products/services offered.
We reserve the right to edit, reclassify, revise, or cancel any post at any time, including but not limited to, during organizational changes to the website. We also reserve the right to revoke site use privileges of anyone who does not abide by the policies set forth in this agreement.
Disclaimer of Warranties and Liability
Online Coweta is a public venue. You agree that your use of Online Coweta is at your sole risk. Because of the number of possible sources of information available through the site, and the inherent hazards and uncertainties of electronic distribution, there may be delays, omissions, inaccuracies or other problems with such information. If you rely on Online Coweta or any materials available through the site, you do so at your own risk. You understand that you are solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from any material and/or data downloaded form or otherwise provided through Online Coweta. Online Coweta can not be held responsible for Internet/email scams resulting from use of this website.
Online Coweta is provided to you as is, with all faults, and as available. Online Coweta cannot and do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, currentness, noninfringement, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose of the information available through the site, nor do they guarantee that the site will be error-free, or continuously available, or that the site will be free of viruses or other harmful components.
Under no circumstances shall Online Coweta be liable to you or anyone else for any damages arising out of use of the site, including without limitation, liability for consequential, special, incidental, indirect or similar damages, even if we area advised beforehand of the possibility of such damages. (Because some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain categories of damages, the above limitation may not apply to you. In such states, the liability of Online Coweta is limited to the fullest extent permitted by such state law.) You agree that the liability of Online Coweta, if any, arising out of any kind of legal claim in any way connected to the site shall not exceed the amount you paid to for the use of Online Coweta.
Correcting and Updating Information
Our website offers users the ability to correct or change certain personal identifiable information collected during registration at any time. Users’ posts and information within them are the sole responsibility of the user.
